Lexus’ powertrain warranty covers the RC F 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the AMG GT. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Mercedes AMG GT ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The RC F’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Mercedes AMG GT’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Power ranks Lexus above average in initial quality. With 32 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Lexus vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Lexus first in overall reliability. Mercedes is ranked 29th.

The RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8 produces 56 more horsepower (472 vs. 416) and 26 lbs.-ft. more torque (395 vs. 369) than the Mercedes AMG GT 43’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8 produces 3 more horsepower (472 vs. 469) than the Mercedes AMG GT 55’s standard 4.0 turbo V8.

The RC F’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Mercedes AMG GT 43’s 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

The RC F has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Mercedes AMG GT; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the RC F’s wheelbase is 1.2 inches longer than on the Mercedes AMG GT (107.5 inches vs. 106.3 inches).

For better maneuverability, the RC F’s turning circle is 5.8 feet tighter than the Mercedes AMG GT’s (35.4 feet vs. 41.2 feet).

The Lexus RC F may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 550 pounds less than the Mercedes AMG GT.

The RC F uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

With its coupe body style, valet key and remote trunk release lockout, the RC F offers cargo security. The Mercedes AMG GT’s hatchback body style, non-lockable folding seat and non-lockable remote release defeat cargo security.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Lexus service is better than Mercedes. J.D. Power ranks Lexus first in service department satisfaction. With a 39% lower rating, Mercedes is ranked 17th.

The RC F’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them, but the driver can still raise and lower both of them with the lock engaged. Mercedes does not offer a locking feature on the Mercedes AMG GT’s standard power windows.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The RC F offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The RC F offers an optional center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

For greater rear passenger comfort, the RC F has standard rear a/c vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer rear vents.
